According to the site, Leon Gallery was founded in 2010 and is a distinguished gallery that leads in specializing in both historically important and museum quality Philippine art. They also include antiques that come from the pre-Hispanic and Hispanic era. Every piece of artwork and antique is guaranteed authenticity.
The first one that caught my eye the piece entitled, "The Jeepney", by Augusto Albor. Even though for most viewers they may see this as just another abstract piece, by knowing the context of the piece brings a new meaning behind the texture, colour and design chosen. In my point of view I feel that there is an emphasis of hope in the midst of the dark blue and grey hues used for the piece. Since there is a yellow circle shown in the lower part of the painting and is highlighted with the white brings out such a propitious mood. From what can be seen from his other works is that most seem abstract conveying a certain message when given a context clue to better appreciate the artist stand point of his various pieces.

Another piece that I quite admired was came was a 19th century painting of a portrait of this lady shown below. There is an interesting method that can be seen of how the artist softened certain features and used textures to strategically draw attention the focal point, her face. There aren't many portrait paintings that I've seen that has captured the essence and even liveliness of the subject. But when I saw her face, even though she was smiling, I could see the emotion through the windows of her soul her eyes. When I tried to pay more attention to that I detail I can feel that there is life there. Especially, given the warm and earthy tones used in the piece, the piece projects an inviting vibe that makes you just want to sit down and observe the artist's piece. Sadly, there is no name of the artist given this portrait one can tell how the artist is skilled in his or her craft.

What I can conclude from this reviewing this website is exceptional, especially with how the artwork is displayed in such a manner that it can be appreciated. As well as that overall I feel at awe from the impressive collection that Leon Gallery has it is amazing on what an artist can do with only the limits of his or her own creativity.
Taken by this we look at their website: www.leon-gallery.com. At first glance of the layout, it can be seen that they have a clean and minimalist approach in their design. There are a number of pieces that they currently have in auction, 156 to be exact. In which it can be shown that there are a range of pieces from Filipino culture to abstract art designs. Though there are three that personally stand out to me.

Last but not least there is "Streets" by Sofronio Y. Mendoza. Seeing from his other pieces, one can conclude that he leans towards painting different environments. All of which are painted in bright colours bringing life into the painting. Back to his painting, "Streets", I really liked the painting because he took an unattractive neighborhood and brought emphasis to a more beautiful aspect from his environment. When I see the bright colours that were used in a cheerful melody that brought a happier mood compared to the reality of what most of these areas are like. You may be thinking why I deem this kind area to be unappealing in real life, well, that's because if you can notice from the painting the houses have paneling as the walls as well as that there is some age in buildings shown. But with that kind of detail, it shows how his composition is obviously well-structured from clear perspective to the fine lines and shapes.
